3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, dates and times of access.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for details.

3.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information from carrier-vetting services (such as Highway, Carrier411, RMIS, MyCarrierPackets, or similar), credit-reporting agencies, FMCSA's SAFER and Licensing & Insurance public databases, and our load-board and load-tendering partners.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide quotes, book loads, dispatch carriers, manage shipments in transit, and complete delivery and invoicing.
  • Vet carriers and verify motor carrier authority, safety ratings, and insurance coverage.
  • Communicate with you about pickups, deliveries, claims, billing, and service updates.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, double-brokering, identity theft, and unauthorized access.
  • Comply with legal obligations under FMCSA regulations, federal and state transportation laws, tax requirements, and applicable subpoenas or court orders.
  • Improve our services, train our team, and develop new offerings.
  • Send marketing communications about our services (you can opt out at any time — see Section 8).

5. Legal bases for processing

Where required by law, we process personal information based on:

  • Contract: to enter into and perform our brokerage and carrier agreements.
  • Legitimate interest: to operate, secure, and improve our business — including carrier vetting and fraud prevention.
  • Legal obligation: to comply with transportation, tax, and accounting laws.
  • Consent: for optional marketing communications and non-essential cookies, where applicable.

6. How we share your information

We share personal information only as needed to operate our business and as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

  • Carriers and shippers: we share necessary shipment, contact, and pickup/delivery information so a load can be tendered, picked up, transported, and delivered.
  • Service providers: transportation management software (TMS), load boards, carrier-vetting platforms, payment processors, accounting and tax providers, IT and cybersecurity vendors, customer-support tools, and email or marketing platforms — bound by confidentiality and data-protection commitments.
  • Insurance and claims partners: when handling cargo claims, accidents, or incidents.
  • Government and regulatory bodies: when required by law (including FMCSA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, state DOTs, and tax authorities) or in response to lawful legal process.
  • Professional advisors: attorneys, auditors, and consultants under confidentiality obligations.
  • Business transactions: in the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred subject to standard confidentiality protections.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations (including FMCSA recordkeeping requirements, generally three years for shipping records), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, or to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@acelanelogistics.com.

8.1 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include access controls, encryption in transit, vetted vendors, and employee training. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to alert us promptly if you suspect a breach.
